Built in 1964 as headquarters for the American Cement Company, the distinctive building, designed by the architecture firm DMJM, express several different uses of concrete from functional to sculptural. The 225 Xs on the facade are key to the building's structural system. By resisting vertical and lateral loads, the exoskeleton allow for column free interiors.
